Abstract Here mechanical metamaterials with shape memory alloys (SMA) are assembled to create a new kind of artificial muscle driven by response temperature changes that generates pulling, pushing, and structurally coded sequentially forces. The deformation force unit can be geometrically tuned, different forces generated two units arranged in parallel series. SMA sheets orientations controlling chain generate programmable responses as mixture pulling pushing Combining structural coding sequential coding, wide range single chain. It is shown the proposed muscles applied an arm‐like mechanism lift weights enable car cross barrier. principle explored work used transform versatile origami‐ kirigami‐based structures into multifunctional actuators for many applications also based on variety materials other than SMA.
